GOING FOR THE GOLD

The Jewish community of Folsom needs a home to call its own. A center for celebration, education, and inspiration. A spacious gathering place where families and people of all ages and affiliations feel welcome.

Last spring we had the golden opportunity to purchase the very last piece of the original homestead property owned by the Hanaway family. Every parcel around it has been developed, leaving a two-acre parcel, perfect for our community center!

We are not simply building a synagogue, a social hall, a Hebrew school, a mikvah, a playground, and a library. The new center will be so much greater than the sum of its parts. It will be a majestic presence for the local Jewish community, and a welcoming home for every Jewish person.

We are sitting on a goldmine of Jewish pride that is just waiting to be unearthed. Every person who comes to Chabad is a hidden gem.

We are thrilled to invite you to join in this exciting venture that will benefit our community for many generations to come.

"Getting involved with the Chabad of Folsom community has been a warm and welcoming experience. Being a non-Jew married to a Jewish man has been challenging for both of us. The Grossbaums welcomed us both and furthered our understanding of Judaism. Rabbi Yossi’s classes are very helpful and interesting, providing clear and straightforward answers to my questions. Goldie is not only sweet, but a Superwoman - fulfilling her numerous roles as mother of a large family, Rebbetzin, teacher, and caterer. Together they make a great team, and we feel so fortunate to be a part of the community."

—Dale & Janet Debber

“I grew up knowing I was Jewish, but I wasn't part of a Jewish community. It wasn't until I was an adult that I found the Chabad Center in Folsom, which has changed my life. Rabbi Yossi and his wonderful wife, Goldie, welcomed my family with warm sincerity. My children now attend their Hebrew school, I attend women's events, and we celebrate Jewish holidays at Chabad. The Chabad community feels like family, and I am forever grateful.”

—Jana Hernandez

“Over the years, we have watched our kids thrive and become confident Jewish young adults through their experiences with the Chabad Hebrew School and youth group. Although we belong to another local synagogue, we also choose to be actively involved with Chabad. Chabad raises the visibility of the Jewish presence in the Folsom area and brings our community together. We are so excited that Folsom Chabad has purchased a beautiful property to build a synagogue and center for learning. It will be an incredible asset to our community, providing opportunities to share our Jewish religion, culture, and traditions in a space we all helped build.”
